Musicians for President?!

Even if you didn't watch the MTV Video Music Awards, you've probably still heard about Kanye West's speech after accepting the "Vanguard" award.

Now that's not directly what I wanted to talk about today, but it did inspire me to write this post, so I guess, thanks Kanye...

What I wanted to talk about today is how these celebrities in the public eye use their "fame" or more, how it should be used. These pop stars are only getting younger, and it's hard to be a role model or inspiration for someone when you've hardly lived your life yet, and you're still making mistakes yourself. But there comes a point where you need to stop and consider how many people are watching you and copying your actions, and who really look up to you.

I love seeing artists using their status to benefit others, whether that be working for a charity or just giving an important speech at their shows. I saw a video on Facebook (i'll link it below) of Taylor Swift speaking out at one of her concert about self confidence, and It really made me think.

If more people in the public eye used their platforms to make a difference in a good way, instead of just showing off how much money and drugs and alcohol you can have and not get reprimanded for it, the world would be a much better place.

Taylor's speech, also known as the "Clean Speech" is below, give it a watch, its really worth it.

Thanks for reading guys. This post has been in my drafts for a while but I feel like it is too important to me to waste!
